Clackamas Community College will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its new athletic fields and grandstand project on Oct. 27 at 3:30 p.m., to be held on the athletic track at the Oregon City campus. The event will include a short program and a blessing by the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. The public is invited to attend this free event. A reception will follow the ceremony.
The bond-funded project will modernize and expand the college’s outdoor athletic infrastructure. Major improvements include:
The total project cost is estimated at $17 million with construction slated to begin this fall and completion expected in fall 2026.
This project is part of the larger Bond Measure 3‑613, a $120-million bond approved by voters in November 2024, intended to invest in college infrastructure, expand learning opportunities and support workforce needs across the region.
“CCC's student-athletes excel both on the field and in the classroom,” President Tim Cook said. “These new facilities are not only an investment in our students’ success, but also a commitment to serving the broader community. These fields will be open and accessible to support community needs for years to come.”
Parking is free, and the college is located at 19600 Molalla Ave., Oregon City. For more information about the bond, visit the Athletic Fields and Grandstand bond page. For more information about the college athletic programs, visit www.clackamascougars.com.
